Prairie Rivers of Iowa is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit committed to strengthening Iowa’s communities and small businesses through the responsible stewardship of our natural and historical resources. Your donation will go a long way to helping us reach out to educate Iowans of all ages about our natural resources and support Iowa’s rich road history.
We play a unique role in Iowa as one of the only nonprofit organizations focusing on both conserving our natural and cultural resources and by building stronger businesses and communities. We bring unique expertise to creatively address some of Iowa’s most challenging needs. From assisting small communities in marketing themselves to travelers, to supporting students in becoming environmentally-literate citizens, to training the next generation of responsible farmers and producers, Prairie Rivers of Iowa helps Iowans create a stronger and healthier state.
If conservation means as much to you as it does to us, please consider investing in Prairie Rivers of Iowa. Your donation is 100% tax deductible.
We extend our thanks to you for the support that Prairie Rivers of Iowa has received for all the work we do across Iowa. As a not-for-profit, your tax deductible contribution makes a difference.
Please consider making a gift this year that will help to support the work along the Lincoln Highway Heritage Byway, educating our citizens to improve Iowa’s water quality and improving our natural resources through economic and community development.

As Prairie Rivers of Iowa board and staff reflect on all the good work accomplished over these last twenty years, we also are pushing to continue to lead important cultural and natural resources work going forward. One way we are doing this is by launching a new recognition opportunity to celebrate Iowans who are “Friends of Conservation”. We want to celebrate individuals, organizations and businesses that want to build a stronger voice for conservation around Iowa’s cultural and natural resources.
Today we are asking you to consider making a gift to Prairie Rivers of Iowa and help launch the “Friends of Conservation”. Your gift will communicate that Iowa’s cultural and natural resources are valuable and worthy of the attention and support needed to improve, restore and conserve.
If you make a gift between now and May 2020 to help us launch the “Friends of Conservation”, you will be listed as an inaugural member, recognized on our website and in our Annual Report. In addition, we have designed a new image for this effort (see above) and a window decal will be sent to you as a thank you.

Other Giving Opportunities
Gifts of Grain:
Your crops are your livelihood, your life. You prepare, you plant, you nurture and it grows. Donating a gift of grain to Prairie Rivers of Iowa is a way to make a lasting difference. The value of the grain can be a general cash value gift, or can be designated to one of our endowment funds.
By giving grain, you avoid including the sale of the grain in your farm income. Although a charitable income tax deduction is generally not available to you, the significant benefit to you is the avoidance of declaring it as income. You deduct the cost of growing the crops which typically results in saving self-employment tax, federal income tax and state income tax. You can benefit even if you don’t itemize your deductions and take the standard deduction.
