Hamilton County Conservation Board has been working hard this fall on the construction of a 26×36 cabin at Briggs Woods Park. This will be the sixth cabin built by the Hamilton County Conservation Board, three at Little Wall Lake and now the third at Briggs Woods Park.
This new cabin is being built in partnership with a supporting grant from the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation and the ongoing support of Legacy Learning Boone River Valley. The new cabin will be larger than the Legacy or Lakeview cabins built previously and will have a more open layout on the first floor allowing more space for meetings, classes, large groups, as well as traditional use.
“We think this will be a great fit for Hamilton County, the Legacy Learning Center, and the cabin users. Demographics are showing us that besides traditional vacation use, individuals are wanting to use the cabins for reunions, parties, and larger gatherings,” said Hamilton County Board Member and Legacy Learning President, Mike Brandrup.
Hamilton County’s cabins are truly those of luxury for our state and if you have not checked them out yet, it needs to get on your to do list. Prices have now as well dropped for the winter and are 50% or more off. With winter activities and two sets of cabins not far from major towns such as Ames, Fort Dodge, even Des Moines or Mason City is not out of the question. At Hamilton County you can truly make your adventure one to remember all year around
